Took my son up on his first ever deer hunt here locally, to chase the elusive blacktail. My expectations wern't high. Didn't see hide nor hair, but it was a great day in the hills.
How did you do ?

Mrs Nav and I got a forked horn, and a doe. Whitetails over by Colville. I didn't take my rifle to the range this year, (first time ever), and forgot about the spill I took crossing icy river rocks last elk season. Mrs Nav had taken a couple of spills too, but her rifle was way closer than mine. Bad deal...we managed to get them and it wasn't pretty, but we got meat in the freezer . Gonna be out shootin' this afternoon, before I head over for elk in a week and a half.

Do Blondes really have more fun,
Or are they just easier to spot in the dark?

Well....I went to the range. The rifles weren't shooting that bad. Guess I just need to spend more time shootin'. Actually, after 20 rounds, I was getting better.....DUH!!! Think I'll spend another afternoon bustin' some caps before elk season gets here.

I didn't see any deer but had a great time with a herd of elk. Played with them for 30 or 40 min. Talked with them, got barked at by the lead cow and her calf and finaly got winded and they moved off. I bet They will be know where to be found next weekend. WFFF
