What might be a good bet for a coastal river to fish this weekend? Central to norhern OR coast steelies and chinook, ho's, etc running anywhere strong? Thanks.

I always fish the alsea and siusilaw. But they only have chinook this time of year and it might be a little early.

Other sources are telling me that the Clack is busting with silvers right now. Confirm?

Was on the Clackamas this weekend. Fish (Silvers)were stacked in at the mouth but nobody was catching anything. Couple guys caught some steelhead. Heard is was supposed to be a banner year for silvers on the Clack and Sandy Rivers. A little bit of rain should get those fish in the mood.

Another one to watch, but early if memory serves, is the lower Chetco.

The outer part of the chetco right off the mouth opens Oct. 1- Oct. 14... and then after that i think it is the bay and the river itself

Clack and Sandy both have coho now. I expect fall Chinook to be very tough up and down the OR coast this year. for some reason the fish are just not showing in numbers.

That said, the Salmon & Nehalem will fish first.

Wish I had better news for you.

The Wilson is getting some fresh fall kings right now , hooked into one the weekend before last and My hubby caught a mint brite Coho last weekend but had to release it because it was a native . The Trask gets hatchery coho right now and should be in good shape with only a little bit of fishing presure . The lower on the river the better .

Any new reports for Oregon costal rivers? Looking for a place to stay and fish and am flexible with time and location. I go when and where the fish are. Let me know. Thanks.
