Fly fishing Spey lines
      #30894 - 10/25/99 06:28 PM

Does anybody else make there own spey lines? I made some quite awhile back and was thinking about breaking them out again for a change in fishing style.

I make my own sink tips out of the RIO accelerator or RIO midspey floaters. I cut back the first 15 feet off the tip and add sections of lead core ranging in length from 8-15 feet. Loop the lead core sections to the floater for quick line changes. On the spey rod you will barely notice the lead core tips.

This may even be a feature in an up coming fly fishing magazine. I'll keep everyone posted as to it's release. There may even be a cover shot worth checking out and yes this fish came to the spey rod. [Big Grin]
