Can anyone help me find a quality blank for a 9 - 10 ft. fly rod in 9-10 wt for a reasonable price? I would love to build a rod but it seems that all the top end blanks are not that much less expensive than buying the assembled rod. Looking for Sage, G-loomis, etc. Thanks.

Go buy a Dan Craft Sig V 10 wt 9 ft. 3 piece. I've fished one for a few years and it's as nice a blank as any of them out there and on closeout at $49.00 now, they were around $130 dollars. Warranty? Customer service? It's in there as good as any of them. #FRSV90103, light, high modulus, fast action, fast recovery blank. Want something a little closer to the action of the very fast action blanks like the Sage TCRs or Z-Axis blanks try the 9 ft, 4piece, FT (fast taper) blanks. Both are cannons, the Sig V are more of a lighter weight, more conventional actioned blank.

www.dancraftent.com is the site I believe. If you have a choice the spiral wrap blank is a bit different to look at when you're on the river. I's a raw blank that hasn't been sanded smooth so no fibers are cut which may or may not make it a bit tougher. Have had a few nice kings on it using a Litespeed 4 reel and the rod has done very well.
