Rainshadow Rods
      #310404 - 11/26/07 12:15 PM

Unsolicited endorsement!

Last summer I had Chris Hendershot (Chrissy) build an xst 1084C and then I bought an xst 1084S from Travis Howard. This past week I got to fish them. I used the casting rod all week and my son-in-law used the spinning rod. About three days into the trip, after several Idaho B-run steelhead on each rod, we both grabbed old rods (major manufacturer) for a couple casts to change colors. After one cast we both looked at each other and said, 'man, these old rods feel like clubs!' Back to the XST's we went! Talk about a fantastic rod. Sensitivity beyond compare and no problem handling the muscular B-Runs. Thanks Chris, thanks Kerry. My only problem now is how to replace all my steelhead rods with Rainshadows!

The guides you have on that rod are most likely Forecast aka Batson guides! Thanks for the good feed back!

Karry
Does Rainshadow make a 7" blank suitable for an Ultra Light action 2-6# line rating spinning rod?

The RDR70L may be a bit whippy but sweet for downrigger Koke fishing. The IP840 should be what you are looking for casting wise.

I'm really considering a 1085 for winter run and salmon in the river. I need to be able to get up to 17 to 20lb main line. I think I would like a top 'o the line rainshadow casting rod. Sound about right??
