The wife won't let me, cracks me up!! I hung up my deer heads and fish in the family room and she said she wasn't going in there ever again........I told her if I would have know that I would have hung them up 10 years earlier.

Never shot anything worthy of a mount. As for "trophy" fish caught, I usually wimped out after consideration of the expense [and what I could do with that money] and rationalization of it becoming just another dust-collector. Honestly can live without them as long as I've got my memories and some pics.
That said, I am not againts this sort of display at all and in fact have admired taxidermy mounts in friends' [past and present] homes.

I have 10 animals at the Taxidermist now....Just saving money to get them all done.....I would also like to have a Steelhead done. I would like a fiberglass one, not a skin mount. That way we both win.

My dad paid to get my first deer mounted. That's the only professional mount I have. We have mounted anters on our own. My dad took four of our most impressive blacktail racks, all from the same area, and mounted them all on a barnboard last year and it's pretty cool. The only thing I'd like to get in the future is a fish replica.

Doesnt have to be big. Just a Quality memory. Some of my greatest fights have been midsize fish. All worth mounting. Its the feeling or memory you get when you look at it in your den.

Hunter's first deer was done as an european mount and it turned out great. I'll post a pick later. I'll probably just stick to those, as I can get it done in a weekend for about $20. If I ever decide to get a full mount, then I can take the euro mount in with a cape. The shoulder mounts for deer and elk just take up too much space for my tastes.
I might get a duck done if I get another pair of Wood Ducks. The first pair I shot was beyond repair after the dog chewed their heads off. Bad Jenna!
If it is a 30+ steelhead, that would be worthy of a reproduction.

I have mounts and will continue to have them. I have 2 bear rugs(1 kodiak and 1 black),full body mount goat, muley, sitka blacktail, Dad's large whitey he had redone from the early 70's, and several ducks and upland birds. I just started doing my own taxidermy last year and I am in the process of mounting my first dear.
