Well with the new laws how do you transfer gun ownership.
My Dad has fallen in love with my Henrys lever 22LR.
I just bought it and think I'll give it to him for Christmas.

There's no law, state or Federal, that I am aware of affecting you giving him or selling him that weapon.

Cool! He has a Illinois gun card and was a cop for 25 years.
I was just thinking after the Fed backround check to buy it
did I need transfer.

CAREFUL! If you SHIP it to him, you can only ship guns to a FFL licensed dealer, who will fill out the necessary paperwork when it gets there (and also charge him a "processing fee!)

are you sure? i think as long as it is not a "sale" you can ship it via ups with no ffl. i would call ups to be sure. if you don't have to ship it a private sale is legal with no ffl.
