You will have some great trout fishing right in your backyard come the end of April when the lakes open up. Hicks, Long, Jamison are all in Lacey and all providing some excellent trout fishing. As for the this time of year, well, steelhead trout is the name of the game. If you don't know already steelhead is an ocean going rainbow trout.

TX - like doc said, winter is tough b/c of closure. Can help you out come spring. How far you willing to travel?

You might shoot for some sea run cutts. Never fished for them exclusively, but I know they frequent your backyard. But I'm thinking the Hood Canal and Sound from the beaches. Don't have the regs in front of me, or the spots, but I know they aren't far. I'm sure someone here might be able to assist.

During the summer months alpine lake fishing is awful fun and you'll find seclusion. Lots of lakes are stocked with rainbows and brook trout. You'll have to hike in. I used to do some of this with a float tube and fly rod years back.

Well texas, I have a boat we can try to hook up and I also have 2 float tubes. I know some lakes to bass fish and some decent trout lakes too. Send me a pm if you wanna hook up and get out on the water.

Shaun.
