Petersburg Trip
      #318236 - 01/23/08 08:58 AM

I have planned a trip up to Petersburg the last week of June and the first week of July. I rented two Forest Service cabins about an hour north of town. I will be taking my 21' boat and had planned on spending about half the time in the salt and the rest of the time on the creeks and rivers. I would really like to catch a big Dolly and Steelie on the fly, any suggestions?

I agree with Brian, I've had some great days for steelhead in April and May, never done very well in June. This was in Ketchikan but I doubt Petersburg would be much different.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I can only schedule time off work during the end of June. Hopfully there will be something in the rivers to target.

I have heard of steelhead to be had at Petersburg Creek, but have never fished it. I was up there a few years ago and asked about steelhead. All the locals said Petersburg Creek. Not sure about run timing though. Good luck
