sHEEEEEEET. Oregon coast. new

Wind in Brookings (close to the coast)yesterday PM; 5 miles up dead calm and great fly fishing (yes, I hooked fish, and landed both) ... today?

BLOWING LIKE A SOB! Even had to pull in the main (down wind) slide on the MH. Full gale flag flying from the CG station at the river's mouth. Suspect this may be an understatement.

Rivers totally blown out, top to bottom in a matter of hours. Low and clear to bank to bank over night. Thunder and lightning too this AM!

Whole new world this morning. new [Re: fredaevans]
      #317022 - 01/12/08 11:41 AM

Yesterday the river (Chetco) was running bank to bank; even had to go into 4 whl low to access Social Security. But very little rain during the day or night .... rivers down over 3 feet from yesterday ... and appears to be falling more.

I'm about to find out again. Back from 'Seattle' this afternoon, back on the Chetco tomorrow about noon'ish.

Will report back .... the good news is the river is well back into fly fishing conditions per the latest flow chart.

HAZAAD!

Rained like hell all yesterday/last night. Chetco (and probably everything else) is a total blow-out.
