Panfish technique
      #321400 - 02/16/08 09:09 AM

As many know, I fish perch, crappie, bluegill, and occasionally bass with a fly rod and spinning reel. It works great this time of year due to the light bite and cold water. I use 6 pound Suffix or Maxima Ultragreen, and small tube jigs or swedish pimples.

Walmart has the 5/6 weight medium action Scientific Angler rods on sale (closeout) for 7 bucks. They match well with a 2000 size Shimano reel (get the cheap ones for this technique). You can get set up for 15 bucks. Just an FYI...

Lance, Dean and I are headed out this afternoon. I'm not sure what Pez (Brett) and I are goi9ng to do tomorrow. Maybe sturgeon, or maybe perch. Kinda depends on today's results. I sent you a PM...

Oh yeah, Glenwood Walmart had some yesterday. I assume the others should have them as well. I had to look hard to find just the rods, as most were full set-ups with reels and lines for 45 bucks.
