We caught our limits in a couple of hours. They were only about 10 - 12 inches. We fished Anderson Lake which is usually very crowded. This year there did not seem to be near as many boats. I was told that the derby winning fish was only 16 inches! Not very big if you ask me.

Dang that is a small one for the derby. Usually a nice holdover wins it.

I caught about 4 fish up to 5 pounds...

The joys of being able to fish a private C&R very productive lake with big fish.

As Marty started.."cheater" and I will finish, "cheater pumpkin eater". The weather cooperated with us who stayed away opening day weekend. My favorite little lake was crowded on Saturday and empty on Sunday witht he rain and wind. Same with yesterday.

Special, you know the lake because it's not far from the store. Hopefully, if my boss will let me off, I'll be on Martha Lake in Alderwood Manor at the end of the week. It is traditionally a surprisingly productive lake from now through June. Hopefully, not everyone got a triploid on opening day and there will be a few left for me.

If I can get him away from the golf course I hope to have my dad in the boat with me. Dad started me out on Ames Lake as a kid 40 some years ago and we still enjoy wetting a line together.
