has anyone ever built a rod with these cabelas blanks? thier IM7 series graphite. a 1143 blank is under 80$ thats the cheapest i've ever found for this blank. never heard anyone ever talk about them.

For ten more bucks you can get a real Rainshadow not a marketing name ploy to confuse the builders. I could not believe it when I saw that company come out with a similare blank years later, same color green as the Rainshadow, and then had the nerve to call them Rainforest but thats busniess I guess.

i don't recal finding a 1143 RS for 10$ more dollars. just about every 1143 blank i've ever found was a minimum 110$

The Rainforest blanks are made by Pac Bay, not a bad blank, but they are a bit heavier in weight than the Rainshadows, at least in the one's I've compared.

Yeah I was going to say I think those are pac bay blanks , I built a few of those about four years ago and was not overly impressed with them , they just never felt quite right . You can get them from merrick tackle with a dealer account for about 50$ or less but even at that price they kinda suck .
