I will be fishing the applegate on some private property Thursday through Sunday and I am hoping the water level and rain cooperate with us. I will have my brother in lawand his dad (coming from Pennsylvania) and his brother (coming in from Alaska) so we want it to be a great weekend. His dad has never fished for steelhead but is an excellent fisherman so I think we will have a great weekend, just hoping the river stays fishable. We will be fishing near the town of applegate and I was wondering what water level is to high to fish for steelhead. I was fishing it when it was down to like 100cfs but now it is up to 270cfs and might go up a little to like 300cfs or so. Do you think it will stay somewhat fishable? I figure it should be fine just wanted to ask some who might fish in this area. Thanks for the help and look for a cool high definition video of our applegate fishing trip on my website in a few weeks!

Hollywood, can you check out the vid player above. Couldn't get it to up-load. Want to assure it's up and running before I post the link over to a couple of UK based fly boards.
Many thanks! Fred

You need the latest version of flash player (it can be downloaded through the website) to view the video. This is because it is encoded for high definition playback on a PC which is relatively a new technology. If you have the latest version of flash player and it doesn't play then it could be that you need to let the file begin to load (push pause) before playing it. It should play on most computers with decent processors. It is encoded to play on the fly if your connection is 2000kbps or faster. If you are on a slightly slower high speed connection just hit pause wait a minute or two then start playback. Let me know if this fixes the problem. Thanks

I'm in the process of re-encoding all Videos including the applegate steelhead video. I have found a way to get the files to half the size as they are now with better quality. They should all work on any high speed internet connection on the fly in about four days.
