      #328136 - 04/09/08 09:59 AM

Karry I have 6 or 8 started and no time to finish them.
I am building my last 12' Fenwick Ferlite UL steelhead blank.
This is the last of the old school Fenwick blanks that I was hording so I'm building it for me.

Rainshadow SW967F, 2 piece, "For everything rod" for a guy with a nice sailboat, matching the rod colors as best I can to his boat colors. Everything fancied up top to bottom.
2 Rainshadow IP964s. Same in the HS 962. Using the last of your painted reelseat on these.
Wrapping up the last of my horded Rogue SWE 904s. Graphite 14" rear and 6" foregrips with custom turned EVA ends.

I have around 25 more of those flip green/brown seats in all sizes so let me know what sizes you need and drop me an email karry@batsonenterprises.com

The SW967 is an all around, we reeled up a 45# butt off the rock pile once, it was painful but the spiral wrap helped. Started hitting some kings then drooped down for some lings Primo blank thats for sure we even slam keeper Sturg on the big C with it. We will have a few more to that line up in July one lighter and one heavier. They will be called swim bait blanks but same action.

I've been working on a bunch, currently built an XST1143 with the VS3 Tic spinning guides and the tic fly guides on the tip section, diamond wrapped in seahawks colors, and woven graphited grips and reel seat! Just finished up a IST1025 casting rod with gold guides, diamond wrapped in red, gold, black, gray, and charcoal! Currently working on a TS66mh and a lamiglas noodle rod restoration! Here is the XST1143. It is up for sale in the classified page. More pics of the rest in the near future!

So, Mr. Rainshadow, when are those RX8 1085 and 1144's going to be out? I really want to build a 9'6" 8-17 or 10-20 or possibly, not preferably, that weight in 9'

Here are some pictures of my just finished rainshadow xst 1084. It weights in under 4oz and when we weighed it at the rod shop it was 3.10oz on the digital scale so its pretty minimalistic but I use if for drift fishing for steelhead. It also has recoils and a special skeleton reel seat custom made so my hands are on the blank at all times. Check it out!

Hollywood 10,
That XST1084 is a beautiful blank. But I think that you would buy quite a bit with a smaller, lighter reel. Sensitivity is partly a function of mass, total mass of rod and reel.

Thats the new sustain 3000FE pretty light at 9.4 oz. I am fishing for steelhead in the 12 to 20lb class so I need a decent reel with a good amount of line.

The new RX8 XST1085,1024 and 1562 WILL BE OUT JULY 1.. Also the RX7 IST1144 at the same time as well as 45 other models in the bass and salt water line up.

Also if any of you like the Olympic Green RX7 steelhead blanks better order them because they are not going to be available much longer.

Sweet set up Hollywood! I'm always amazed on what folks are trying these days. Give me a report on how well that seat stays put. I'm always a bit nervous when I see the limited about of surface glue when the seats are split like that especially with the cost of that reel.

Just finished the sws597 sturg spiral wrap rod:)next on tap the RDR76L kokanee rod.

I'm going to teach my girl friend to build one at the same time probably going to expedite the hair loss process with that and possibly the girl friend loss as well LOL.. Wish me luck and patience:)

It was professionally built!! The guy who builds all of my rods does an amazing job. He was a little worried about how the reel seat would hold up to steelhead fishing but figured out a way to make it very strong. He explained to me how he did it (using epoxy in three different places and at different times) and some other stuff that I dont remember but he wouldnt have done it if he didnt think it would hold up. It was finished right before my last steelhead outing and twelve steelhead were landed using this rod in two days. I will let you guys know how it works out but so far it is an amazing feeling and fishing rod! The guy who does my rods is jim clarkson at raptor rod works.

Ok a new word Fossl fish stick?? Fill me in on that one maybe it will make my fishin Dictionary.

Sturg rod perhaps?

Soft tip with loads of mid power. I like to harvest and not screw around. The SU1264 has been a good one for them soft biters but lacks the Harvest Power.
