I am planning on spending some of the tax return on a new AR this year. Any suggestions on the best place to buy one would be appreciated. Does Olympic Arms sell to the public, or only dealers? Thanks in advance.

Yes Oly Arms sell to the public, ask for Tom Spithaler aka Rattler on this board...tell him Bob sent yah.
What you lookin for in an AR, M4 type??? Target match/varmit rifle??? Olympic Arms builds both!
FYI, Rattlers kids are feeesh catchers!

You could also go for a match grade gun....
...or a tricked out custom big bore.
My Oly is a great shooter. By that I mean 5 shots in under 0.5". Point and shoot. It will do the job.
Be careful. Last year this time I had one. I now have 3.5. That BRD is hard to shake once you catch it.

What Andy said, I bought my first AR-15(Oly PCR-5) in June '04...as of April of '08 I'm upto nine.
Once in the grips of BRD, look out...Welcome to the darkside!

RR, thanks for the info. I am interested in the Oly Arms GI-16. I don't think that I will have enough money for a SOCOM like Andy's, but that is a kick-ass looking piece of equipment.

I have an Oly Arms 16" upper I'd part with. A2 format upper with A2 sights, birdcage type flash hider. Includes bolt and bolt carrier group. All you would need is a lower, parts kit, and a stock and you are in business. I'm looking to roll the funds from that upper into my new 6.8 upper. Let me know.

I believe it is a 512. I do like it a lot better than the Bushnell Holo scope.
