Ok so i do alot of fishing and this may sound like a dumb question for someone who catches tons of trout but what are some good ways to catch and find trout on rivers like the rogue??

Never fished the rougue but Id start with spinners.

what kind cuz when ever Im fishing the river with spinners i always use either bluefox in either a 2 3 or 4.... in bronze or fire tiger usually

I have always had better luck fly fishing on rivers for trout.

#1 - chunk of worm and split shot - if bait is kosher I swear by it. Pinch all barbs if fishing bait.
If not, panther martin it is, but have been switchin out to single barbless. Like the action better, and I don't have to switch back and forth with selective gear rules. Easier release as well.. 
Bow from this fall on single hook martin.

In rivers I look for the seams at the top and bottom of a hole. This time of the year I will drift a sculpin type fly (muddler minnow works well) or a variety of bunny leeches or buggers. Also work the deep slow moving water close to shore with a nymph pattern (bead head prince, hare's ear, pheasant tail) I have had good luck catching multiple fish out of the same holes and slots as you will not spook the fish as much tossing flies.

1) Nymphs like bead head pheasant tail and copper john in a size that matches the nymphs crawling under any rocks you might flip over. Also stonefly nymphs if there is a good stonefly hatch on that river. If you have risers, look at what they are eating and match that bug.
2) Go with spinners like Wyldedge.com sells. Those things rock! Panther Martin and Mepps as well as rooster tails are good too, but roostertails are tough to cast.
3) small hook with Pautzke Balls O' Fire eggs (1 or 2) on it, drifted with as little split shot as it takes to effectively fish the bait.
4) Plunk worms. Great way to kill a 6 pack and catch a few fish.

I've never had much luck using worms with weight , although the rogue is a pretty big river , you could still probably get away with free drifting worms , so long as your rod casts really well with very little wieght , an ultralight rod should be able to do that . Best spinner colors for trout ..., red and yellow (silver blade), black and yelow(brass blade) and brown and yellow(brass blade) also in larger sizes (#3-#4) try blue w/silver, or brass w/black .

the color combinations that i listed above are all colors we offer , we use anywhere from a size 1 (1/16th oz.) to a size 4 (3/8 oz.) depending on the size of the river and amount of current or flow.

All you guys like spinners must be some kind of twisted fettish. I like small spoons I make from colorado blabes #2 Just bend the front end using a golf ball for a mandril and put another hole at the back end for a split loop and and hook. The spoon siwashes and when you slack line it flutters down with a side to side action . I use chrome and brass edged on the under side with orange or fire red nail polish I`m not a twisted man.

I like spinners. Rooster tail (green frog and others) mepps, blus fox. I fish small size one and try to get behind slots like I would for steelhead (rocks, logs, any structure). Positioning for the cast to get the spinner where you want it is the real talent.
