New AR15
      #331524 - 05/04/08 01:25 PM Attachment (0 downloads)

Stopped by J&S Gun Parts per Chinook73's and others recommendation this past Friday. Jonh was most helpful, in spite of he was the only one working. They were all at the Monroe gun show.
I picked up this little lady.

stainless 16" bull barrel, 1x-4x scope, tactical charging handle, knurled freefloating handguard & gas block.

I was wanting to go with flipdown front & rear sites and an EOTech type sight, but they were all headed to the Monroe Gun Show that weekend. Oh well, I can always add them later.

Thank you all for your assistance & input for helping me pick out my first....but not my last Black Gun.

Hey RR, what kind of light system do you have on your M4? Is it a surefire?

PS: I saw you on Drano on Saturday. It wasn't until we docked did I realize it was you. Otherwise I'd have said Howdy.

Question: I've heard about "Barrel Break-in" Is this necessary? And how do you do it properly other than Bushlers Method: D ?

I didn't know you were in Jim's boat on Saturday, he's a good friend.

The tactical light isn't a Surefire, it's an M3X, it and the EOTech 552 combat gun sight on this Oly LT-M4 are special to me...as they were used in Iraq by our friend on his service M4.

For me, I run a bore snake down the barrel after every 5 shots for the first 40-50 rounds, and after that...all mine have been scary accurate.

Jim's a good guy. My Rep pretty much uses him and being as he's paying for it, all the better

Thanks for the info on the light & sight. Eventually Going to go with an EOTech unit with somthing like ARMS removable base.

Hey Hog,

Were you in Aberdeen Firday evening? Specifically at McDonalds?

Nice RIFLE! My ML-2 looks very similar, except the stock.

Dog - Nope I was resting my head in Hood River Oregon in anticipation of fishing Drano the following morning.
Why, was there a gun toting cracker sighting?

Hell of a nice looking weapon! I am sure you will hit some tight groups with that free floating bull barrel.
