So with the cold water this year the trout seem to be a bit lethargic. While trolling, the trout seemed to take a slow swipe at my lures and be gone.
Long story short, I replaced ALL the hooks on my trout lures with Gamakatsu single siwash hooks... WOW. A lot of those missed fish are now hooked fish.
I feel kind of foolish not having done this in years gone past, I'd venture to say quite a few of us do this every year for salmon and steelhead.

Amen, Brother Ash. Along with strong knots and not changing your mono fishing line very frequently (e.g. daily if you're drift fishing, fresh (sharp) hooks are part of the Holy Trinity of Things you can Do to Stop Losing Fish.

i think brand is not as important as checking the sharpness and putting a little edge on them as necessary. i like gamakatsus and owners, but i find myself using brad's hooks more often because they're the same shape as a gami, less than $3 a pack, and with a couple swipes from my file they're even sharper.

Gamakatsu is what I have confidence in. I've heard great things about owner, brads, and some other brands.
I could not get a good edge on a single one of my dick night spoons... which is really what prompted me to switch hooks.
If you open my Pip's®.... its full of Gamakatsu tied with Maxima. But I'm young and dumb, still.
