At least you have all the stuff to start tying flies. You'll be good to go.

You MUST give up 'women;' fly fishing is expensive enough by itself. :>)

I can give lessons, but I cast like crap. LOL. I can cast and get the fly where I want it to and fish it well. But the process inbetween isn't as smooth as some.

Oh, and it's not that hard to cast. Just getting the rhythm down and not "overcasting". Plus, loading the rod helps. But isn't hard to get someone going.

you can feel it on your back cast when the rod starts going forward, it feels perfect. i could tell the first time i did it that is how its supposed to feel every time. i think i just need to practice a little and work on my timing a little more. Any tips for roll casting jerry?

Yeah, it is the "extra weight" that you feel of the line straightening out on the backcast, and you use that to "load the rod" for extra distance and accuracy on your forward cast.

Yeah, but learn and stick to the basic cast first, to get your "timing" down first, then the "double haul" is easy!

Don't forget there are some excellent DVD's on casting (both single and 2-handers).

Hay BG, welcome back. Haven't seen you posting in quite some time. But put the Merlot aside before you hit the key board.
Just kidding Buddy, glad to see you back on line.

Depends on what you mean by 'going well.' For 'our' 21's wedding anniversary (May 30th) Joan advised she's filing for divorce. Actually been expecting it.
