He's a lab, he's going to get in the water. It's funny the first time they dive at a coot while you are driving 35 mph down the lake, but only if they pop back to the surface. I'd suggest a short leash tied off to something stout...

Mine loves the boat, she has never tried to jump out yet. Now when we are on the dock, thats another story. She cant be on a dock without jumping in.

Kobie used to love the boat but he got ginormous and takes up as much room as two people. Hauling his butt over the gunwale if he decided to jump out ceased being an option at about 10 months of age.
BTW the fact that our furniture and carpet are the same color as our dog is no accident. He isnt allowed on the furniture but he forgot to tell his hair.

Bailey fetches her first goose, age 8 weeks 3 days...
Her new favorite game... She is even retrieving to hand (instinct only - I'm no dog trainer), and she will go as long as I let her. At this stage I'm limiting it to when her tail quits wagging or 15 minutes at a time. So far it's been 15 minutes, tail wagging the whole time.

Kinda looks like Trouble to me... She's definitley a sweetie. I'll keep her.
You should see her brothers. Gozer and Puck are really cool dogs. We took Bailey over to Pez's for a family reunion Sunday, and Gozer is 50% bigger than Bailey. That dog never walked past a bit of food in his life, I tell ya. He's a tank. He'll grow up to be the dog that fetches 30 dusck and geese a day, and then beg you to stop so he can jump pheasants on the way home...

Gozer did learn a great new trick today. He taught himself to turn on the faucet in the back yard. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, so I'm hoping he'll forget it ever happened. I'd rather not have to padlock our faucet...
