Boater, you're convincing me, that you're a rebel without a clue, or a cause.

Its been a whole year. Now you graduated to looking for disgruntled sportsman in florida and contacting them and posting links for them to read.

I recognize some people dont want to lead or follow or contribute to save the fish. We joined, we got on board, we got involved to help out to the best of our abiilites. We have MEMBERS who may never get involved. Thats ok. Someday, they may have the time and the desire to talk to another fisherman, come to a meeting, or join a committee.

We have an unpublished win in this state, just because someone wrote a letter and showed up to some meetings. They stopped nets from going in the water. In addition, I don't care if you believe me.

You should go fishing and let us work. We dont need a devils advocate. We need people who are FOR making positive changes that bring better fishing to all of us. Find another group to support, or just go fishing. We dont need to be saved.

it stems from when i hear or read about somthing that is questionable i`l ask about it even if i know the question will piss some people off i will still ask it, then you take it as an automatic slam against whatever group we are talking about, i think you people who automaticaly start slamming a question should grow up and research the issue and give an answer.

This is a great thread.
I used to wonder about LB but I realize that he is passionate and is willing to try and do something to support his beliefs. That's good stuff. Boater, on the other hand claims to do all the research about something but then asks questions about the same subject, just to stir the pot? Boater, is there a problem with you sharing your research so all of us can be informed?

Trout, I would not be talking about cca in this manner, or boater for that matter. He is free to live his life, as long as he doesnt provoke me. He has done a lot of research and come to his own conclusions. I on the other hand, met with the leaders from National and like how they do business.

Maybe Boater has higher standards. Fine. I dont want anyone to lower themselves. I want him to find another club and find a way to pull the wagon. He should join NSIA or WSC. And he should leave CCA alone. But he wont.

Trout if you have questions about ccapnw, we can find the answers. But, we set our own agenda. We raise our own money. National will be there for us. We are way way ahead of their expectations. They are not leading us. Other states have a lot of success, but it took them a lot longer. We waited too long. We had too many failures. We were ready for success and cca is a successful model.

I can make up my own mind. If another state cca chapter had problems, then we learn to avoid the same mistake. You dont tear up your membership card. If I ever tear up my membership card, there is nothing in it for me, to poison the minds of other members. I will go fishing.

boater doesn't really participate in any of the other forums and his contributions on SH.net are mainly just attacks on CCA. If I hadn't seen him do the same thing to several otehr sportfishing groups, that would be a different matter, but he has. He will never give a straight answer as to "why" he has this obsession to tear organized sportfishermen apart. However, once the pattern is established, only one conclusion is likely.

So LB, what are your thoughts on Gregoire? It would appear she isn't on board with dam removal. It would appear she isn't even "for" spill. Does this look like she is "for" the fish to you?

http://www.nwriverpartners.org/gregoire_10_31_05.html

OLYMPIA - Oct. 31, 2005 -- Gov. Chris Gregoire today offered a preliminary reaction to proposed modifications to the operations of the Columbia River hydro system filed in federal court by the environmental plaintiffs. “I am very concerned that this proposal will cost Washingtonians dearly while delivering very little for endangered salmon,” she said.

The proposal asks the court to order significantly more spill of water in the spring and summer, to modify the way in which many dams are operated this winter, to modify the way many lower river dams are operated next summer, and to drawdown Roosevelt and Banks lakes if alternative water sources cannot be found.

Gov. Gregoire expressed very strong concerns with drawing down Lake Roosevelt and Banks Lake if other sources of water cannot be found. “Those actions have serious consequences, and not just financial impacts. They may damage cultural resources, resident fish species, and cause other environmental and health effects,” she said. “We simply cannot solve one problem by creating a host of others.”

A drawdown of Lake Roosevelt and Banks Lake potentially exposes sediment contaminated with toxic metals to drying and blowing in winds as fugitive dust and could harm resident fisheries in Lake Roosevelt.

The plaintiffs’ proposal asks for more water than a similar request implemented last summer when the court ordered spill at certain Snake and Columbia projects but did not order increased flows.

“I am concerned about the lack of demonstrated benefits and the very real costs,” the governor said. “We are still awaiting an evaluation of the expensive experiment with spill last summer.”

While this proposal deals with next summer’s river operations, the court has also established a yearlong process to rewrite the Biological Opinion governing hydro system operations for the long term. Gov. Gregoire affirmed Washington’s commitment to work within the court’s established process to recover endangered salmon.

“I hear the court speaking loud and clear. The region has one year to work together to develop a proposal to run the river in a way that protects salmon. We will participate fully and ask for the same commitment from our federal counterparts. Now is the time to come together on ideas that will benefit fish, like the locally-driven recovery plans being developed across Washington,” she said.

The governor joined local leaders in Walla Walla and Yakima last week in presenting salmon recovery plans to the federal government. “Those plans demonstrate that Washingtonians can work together to recover salmon. We can and must do the same on the Columbia for salmon, our agricultural communities and our economy,” Gov. Gregoire added.

LB, I never mentioned CCA. I was one of the first members almost 1.5 years ago. Maybe you should re-read my post. Don't accuse me of things I didn't do.
My perception of Boater stands.

Thats three years old. As such, it proves she was on the wrong track. Im more concerned about what she knows now, and if she will find a way to impede the removal, if re-elected.

Ive heard very little to this point, other than a thumbs up for Dino. I dont know if they will formally endorse a candidate. Might be counter productive based on other plans.

I think you know my default pick. Im also thinking that Aluminum companies would be better off with their own power generation equipment.

LB, I'm pretty sure they can't "formally" endorse any candidate.

Yes, I believe she would impede any attempts at dam removal, as would Rossi.

I will have to object to that LB. Mojo would have all those droolers visiting the governors mansion all the time. If you know about droolers, you know there wouldn't be any beer left for sale in the surrounding communities, including mine.

We've never experienced a beer shortage around here and it would devastate our local economy.

As much as i appreciate your spport, I am not a Washington Resident, and as such wouldn't be able to hold the position. I am, however, running for Supreme Dictator and Ruler for Life of the U.S. of A. You vote would be appreciated.

As much as I appreciate boater's research, he still has not answered my questions, specifically how he is connected to the salmon extinction industry, and why he wants to see any efforts to restore the PNW salmon runs de-railed. I am still waiting on his answers. Copies of his last 10 catch record cards would also be appreciated, as would copies of his last 10 years tax forms...
