reeder bar rod ???s new
      #337327 - 06/19/08 11:54 AM

looking into a 11.5 old reeder fiberglass plunking rod. it's a one piece. heres a thought. would it be feaseable to cut it in half and install a metal ferrele? it has 6 large metal rust free guides on it. i'm thinking of replacing the old guides. just how much consideration should i have about the spine on such a old glass rod?

I would go for it, I think you can still get ferrules out to 20 mm or so. I don't concern myself with the spline, I worry about building the rod to look the straightest.
