Of course, as Salmo and Smalma had previously pointed out, the HC rivers probably never had real high productivity to begin with, being rather steep and short. They may not be capable of supporting commercial fishing pressure. Which may be the reason for the "old time" legends of the Skokomish people being very careful not to take too many.

Goose,

That was the difficulty I had with Gary's presentation. It mixes and wrongly matches watershed, stocks, species, and effects to the point that it sounds pretty smooth and all connected to the uninformed. But the fact that it includes a series of disconnected pieces is going to make it more difficult to effect the desired changes whether via the Legislature, Initiative, or the courts.

If his pitch were about mid HC, I think he'd be right on target. But he totally misses in on the Columbia and Puget Sound.

Ah well, I haven't written or phoned him yet. I'm still trying how to sort it out.

Sg

I too did not see SG's remarks about Gary too be anything but constructive critisism.theres good info here as well as some thoughtless bickering that will do no good for anyone.
personally I beleive giveing $25+ to CCA with the track record they have is the least I could do.
