Boater,
Selective fishing (sport) for salmon isn't intended to restore or recover salmon. How would it?
Selective fishing provides fishing opportunity for us to fish for marked hatchery fish when the alternative would be a closure to prevent too high an incidental harvest of wild ESA salmon. Selective fishing is a management invention generally intended to increase fishing opportunity and to increase the harvest of hatchery salmon.
What is your point?

One way fishers can contribute to the recovery of weak stocks is by the use of selective fishing techniques.

boater you forgot to add the names of all of the organizations that are saying the very same. NSIA, NMTA, PSA, RFA and the Salmon Mafia would be a few of those.

well
Is it really a bash?... Or is it a valid question ?
Is every "qestion" addressed to the CCA always a "bash"?
Or are they questions that have not been answered?
