CCA Tax information for donations new
      #302783 - 09/23/07 11:55 AM

Marty, is it possible to sticky this?

Coastal Conservation Association is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization. Our federal ID number is 74-1984482.
All CCA state chapters operate under the same ID number. If you designate the state chapter you wish your gift to be credited to, we will ensure they receive the funds.
Thank you for your consideration of CCA.

What in the world does CCA National do with all of its money that they collect?

How much money did they make last year...or that all secret too?

So why hide that information then? It's not your money! It all comes from the public...right?

Maybe if people knew what the CCA does with there money, they might support them even more...but then again, they may get a real big surprise just how much money the CCA really racks in and what they spend your money on.

But as always, every thing has to be a big secret with the CCA... right?

WOW!!!

I just did a search on that tax CCA ID number and boy did I get a big eye awakening!

Now we know just how much the CCA collects, and spends your membership money and banquet funds on.

Wow!

Whos money are YOU using?

Let you in on a BIG secret. Life members actually only donate about 75 dollars to cca, the rest of it goes back to the state account. That is a 900 dollar donation to the state chapter. NO banquet money goes to national.

National also returns unspent money to the state chapters. In 2007 at the national board meeting, state board members to national voted unanimously to donate half of their refund to the new chapters of Oregon and Washington. That amounted to about 90,000 dollars seed money to ccapnw

Most of the 25 dollars is tax deductible. The 25 dollar membership has not gone up in 30 years. For that 25 you get a magazine, a newletter for those in the NW and you get two lobbyists at the national level and attorneys to defend our legislative or court wins. Cowlitz is just trying muddy the water as usual.

Sorry CFM but I haven't made any unsubstantiated claims such as you have to have used your own money to pay for what you claim to have done. So no proof...then we can only assume it is all just talk. DA!

I guess that my reply be this:

1) Know who you give your sport dollars to
2) Know where your sport dollars are spent
3) Know what your sport dollars are being spent on
4) Know what you are supporting, before you support it

Those are now the Big "4 K's" in the fishing world of today!!

It's the next's generation step up from the old "4 H's" of the past!

He forgot to mention, he ran into a brick wall named Bruce and he had to come over here and get in Aunty face, for his own ammusement.

So anyone, who donates to a nonprofit for humanity or saving anything on the planet is now fair game, because its all about the money and the four K's. Otherwise, this would revolve around Gary loomis and or some fish.

Either way, Bob is here to save you.

From a previous thread...

Quote:

Mojo said:
Boater, if you want to be part of the decision making process that defines CCA policy in the PNW, join, become active, and voice your opinion. It is a grassroots organization whose policy is defined by the members.

If you want to do nothing but criticize, take pot shots, and attempt to discredit people that are TRYING TO HELP OUR FISHERIES, go do it somewhere else. If you decide CCA is not for you, do it quietly. YOU are part of the problem our fisheries face. All sportfishermen need to work to positively change our situation. Any positive change is a good thing. If all CCA does is fix one of the problems all our fish face, or even reduce the impacts that one problem causes, it is a success.

What does your criticism of many of the groups that are trying to save our fisheries stem from? What does it do to help our fish? Are you in the fish extinction business, or politics? Serioulsy, I'd like answers.

Ahhh, so you are a politician. That answered one of my questions. I actually figured you were a lobbiest for the salmon extinction industry.

My suggestion (since you are all knowing and all seeing) is that you form an organization that will unilaterally bring together all sportfishing interests in the PNW, and use the clout of hundreds of thousands of registered voters to force our politicians to push restoration. Make it happen. Obviously everyone else that has tried has failed, and each time a new apporach is attempted, you see fit to shoot it down. Show me how it is done.

First off, Bruce and I are friends. We sometimes disagree with each other on a few fishing issues, but not many. The CCA happens to be one that we disagree on. I can fully understand why Bruce has to lock up threads about the CCA. If you read between the lines, the answer is pretty obvious to many. When one of the websites major sponsors (Three Rivers) is both pushing for the CCA and sponcering that forum, one really can't do much if they want that sponsor to continue its financial support of that forum. Maybe Bruce has others reasons too, but that one is pretty obvious to many. Bruce is a good guy and I respect him, but that does not mean that I must agree with him on every issue, and the CCA is one of them that we differ on.

I really don't know where people such as you come up with that kind of monarchy! Everything and everybody is fair game when they have valid disagreement and issues. I and a few others have been right up front on what our concerns are about the CCA, yet some of you think that just because you support them and think that they can cure all of our fishery problems that NO ONE can question them on what they are
