I am sold on polar fleece type pants for hunting. They are quiet, don't hold the water in the rain and light. Who makes the best polar fleece pants...cabelas? I like to have cargo pockets (like gi issued) to carry the extra items while in the field.

I use to be a wool fan. but these new fabrics are great. I use cabela's superslam saddle cloth with dry-plus. There ok but are lacking in craftsmanship. I was fishing with a guide and he had a pair of superslam fleece, dry-plus w.thinsulate and swears by them. I think I will go to fleece next time. I am sure there are better products out there but cabelas seems to have the best price for the product.

Marty, I also like the Saddle Cloth especially for early season hunts. While not water proof, it is water resistant, and you won't get soaked by dew in the grass, or by a sudden shower. Being in the Army, I won't have hunting pants without those huge cargo pockets like my uniforms have...just too spoiled for that extra space. I'd rather have a few necessities in my pockets than carry a backpack (most days). The only bad thing I can say about Saddle Cloth, is don't sit on a fir stump, because the pitch will pull off the nap of the fabric. Greg
