Come on now. It is not the kill that matters. It is the experience. Of getting out in the fall mornings. Seeing wildlife. Getting all that exercise. Not being able to sleep the night before opening day.Feeling your heart race when you hear or see a deer. Watching a youngster shoot. Anticipation. Driving 8 or 9 hours to your favorite area. Meeting up with people you haven't seen since last huntin season. These are the things that matter to me.
Oh yes, the meaning of the hunt is much more than just the kill. However, nothing beats the feeling I get from the fresh smell of gun powder. It just brings back memories of hunting seasons in the past. My kids are still to young to hunt but I sure can't wait to create momories with them! My 4 year old daughter is always asking when she gets to go. I hate having to tell her "When you are older".
