Okay this is not really a hunting topic but no other spot for it. We have a pair of mallards that have been returning to our neihborhood to nest for atleast the last 5 years. I think they are really cool and always drive slow when they are in sight. My wife and daughter discovered that they nested in our yard this year and the babies have hatched! This is pretty cool stuff. I am worried though that they might get run over on the road because the creek is on the other side. Any suggestion?

Don't disturb the nest until they have left for good. Momma will get them to where she wants asap. Keep your eye out for road kill so the kids don't see it...just in case. What about your cat? That is a bigger danger.

Luckily my wonderful dog keeps the evil cats from entering the yard! Gotta love dogs!
