Special Permits new
      #33936 - 07/11/01 07:08 PM

Just wondering if anybody got a special permit this year. I was told that the results were available online. I didn't put in for any. I will plan on hunting for Muleys and Whitetail in republic for the start of the season and if that doesn't pay off I will hunt blacktail on the penninsula.

Took the AHE course and drew a pretty good deer tag but no elk (Bummer). My son drew a youth tag for the second year in a row(shot his first deer last year) My dad drew a dow tag for muleys in my area and my uncle, who also is a grad of AHE drew the same tag I did. Should be lots of vineson on the table this year.

Congrats, Plugger! As usual, I never got around to applying for the special permits this year...I've never had good luck with lottery draws, anyway . I may venture to the East Side and chase mulies this year, though. One of my hunting partners drew the sheep permit for the Swakane unit last year and shot a HUGE bighorn, #2 in the state I believe. He also saw a bunch of nice mulies there, and I've never killed a mule deer, so we're gonna go and give it a shot.

Right on Plug. What is AHE? Saw your dad in the store but he was talking the new King opener instead of hunting.

Its the advanced hunter education program. It consists of book study, conservation work and shooting proficientcy. It gives you a chance to hunt private property and appliy for hunts only grads can apply for.It was very educational. There is also elk areas open only to grads.
