With the upcoming bear season i was wondering can you call for bears and cougars in washington and does it have to be hand calls or can you use an electric call.

Never heard of calling a bear, cougars would probably respond to a call pretty well. My bro in law has been getting some bears up above Granite Falls with hounds in the last month or more. Plenty of bears around as always. Bill

I'm going camping above Verlot on the SF of the Stilly next month w/ a bunch of cub scouts. That should scare the critters wayyyyy back into the bush. If you want to hunt, we'll act as beaters and drive them across to the other side of the range.

the best way to call a bear in is done this way. get yerself some canadian back bacon (2 lbs) . butchershop. dozen doughnuts... jellies. two 40z mickeys brew. take all 3 into the woods. leave everything in a ice chest in the woods. (open the 40s and shake) bears loves the ice chests. easy bear calls. bang away!!!
