Been looking at upgrading my bow. I was looking at the Hoyt Tech series, but then I shot the LX WOW! Then I shot the Switchback WOW! WOW! The bad thing is I can save a couple hundred bucks on the LX. Has anybody used both the LX and the Switchback a lot? Is it worth the few hundred more bucks for the Switchback?

I just picked up an outback and love it. I shot the LX and it was my runner up. I got the outback because I got a better price on it. Are you buying new or used. If you dont mind a used one let me know I can get you an LX for around 450 in perfect condition. Im going to get a switch back next year when they go for about 400 which ever you get toss the crappy zebra sting and get a winners choice or vapor trail. The zebras strech sooooo bad that the bows wont stay in tune. Shoot me a pm and I can give you some details.

Steelheadstan, I shoot the LX and would highly recommend it. 5 bills is 215 less than I paid for mine 2 years ago. I have only shot the Switchback a few times and thought it was awful sweet. The Outback is nice also. I don't think you could go wrong with any of these bows, shoot them all and buy the one that fits you best. I also agree with KK get some winners choice strings or you will be tuning daily. If you need any info on the LX let me know. I introduced these guys to my LX

I have shot both the LX and the Legacy. If you are not die hard set on the LX I would seriously consider the Legacy if you can find one. The Legacy is much quieter although just a bit slower. You can find the last year model Legacy's at a pretty good price. I bought my in Alabama on a trip for 500.00. Either bow you pick you can't go wrong with the Mathews. Just remember to do the string change before you do anything. Those zebra strings stretch. As the owner of a Legacy and a Z-max I have gone through that ordeal. Get a winners choice before you spend the time re-tuning.

My wife got me a new Matthews Switchback for our anniversary. I put Cobra SideWinder sight on it, and I love the setup. Shoots way smoother than my old PSE.

Friend from work has the switchback, I got his old Magnatec....he loves it....Fish4steel just got a switchback and he also loves his. Lots of dough though...if you can afford a sb then get it. I don't think you can ever go wrong buying a quality product. I like my 200 dollar hoyt though...good luck!

You are now old enough to get a Bow without training wheels and find out what Archery is all about. Half the fun is making your own equipment and the other half is the evenings spent in camp with the greatest guys in the world, YOUR FRIENDS. The guy that started me shooting is now 83 and just finished a trip to Utah hunting with a Longbow.

For that money$$$ I recommend go back to Hoyt! I tried all bows before purchase. Mathews Swtichback LX and XT are excellent feeling and smooth after shots. Try Hoyt LaserTec or PowerTec, both are excellent feeling, smooth and save 200 bucks. Both Hoyt bows weigh much lighter than Switchback. That is my option. So I bought PowerTec and I'm happy with it. It is up to you as personal. Good Luck!

Martin Archery of Walla Walla, Wa I crashed on the ATV and broke my rizer in half. Drove down to Martin and they put a new rizer and strings on my bow at no charge. I was hunting the next day. WOW!
