Roosevelt Walleyes new
      #336664 - 06/14/08 09:46 PM

Fished out of Seven Bays and the State Park 6-10,11 & 12. Lots of Eyes but most were small. Two of us fishing kept 38 for the three days. We tried to release everything under 15 inches but ended up keeping 10 that were 12 to 14 inches due to them being hooked deep and bleeding. Our biggest was a resently spawned female that was 25 inches. We also managed some nice males 16 to 20 inches. Most of the bigger fish were caught in the Spokane river. The fished seemed to be moving during the day. We would start out fishing 20 to 30 feet deep and would have to move out to between 40 and 60 feet in the afternoon. The Spokane river was very fishable from the State Park up river past Porcupine Bay, the farther up river we went the better the fishing.

Any recent reports from Lake Roosevelt? Specifically in the Gifford Landing area. I will be leaving town on Saturday headed up that way for a week of R&R. Hopefully the 'eyes will cooperate. Been 20 years since I've been up there. Looking forward to it.

Thanks! Steve
