Bites are far and few between from what I'm seeing. Went out Sunday o dark early and fished until 11am. Saw 0 nets fly in that time. That's like 6 trips and nothing for us. Haven't fished any incoming tides yet as it seems like everytime we go it's flowing out. Maybe this week on an incoming will change our luck.

I used to fish down there a lot, they used to open Commencement Bay on August 1st every year, caught some really nice fish there, but then they changed the opener to mid August, and it never seemed to be as good after that.

I fished Commencement bay on sunday and went 0 for 3.
Fishing has been pretty rough for me this year so far out there. Will be back out tonight and Thursday night.

Shaun.

My brother and I have 8 between us. We get at least one an outing. The bites have all been before 10 am. Last outing I took one on the drop of the down rigger. The rod never hit the holder. Kept one Monday and released 2 unclipped. My concern is not wether there are fish. It is about the herring. I have never seen so many tiny herring. They are more like gold fish. We have had to purchase our bait instead of catching it. Matching the hatch has been a stable part of my fishing success. That is just not happening this season. It leaves a lot of concern and doubt about fishing seasons to come.
