Shore fishing for Coho&kings
      #343282 - 08/14/08 04:51 PM

I am planning an outing this weekend for some shore hoping near seattle area for salmon . I have loaded my box with a few vibrax spinners and couple little cleo spoons in different color combos. And am wondering if anyone would know a good spot where my luck might be better at thinking of trying carkeek park early in the morning. Anyone have any advice or strategy??

Go to Whidbey Island and use Buzz Bombs, specifically the Pink/Pearl ones. Been getting a few on Rvrfshr spoons in silver hammered finish, too, but the BB's have been better.

Fish on...

like todd said dont forget the buzz bombs, just huck them as far as you can and retrive. Float and herring works well also.

As Todd mentioned, Whidbey has been putting out some fish.
I've lived above Carkeek for over 20 years. Decent for searun cutts, but not a great salmon producer in my opinion. If you don't feel like going all the way north to Whidbey, try either the Tacoma Narrows, Dash Point or Lincoln Park in West Seattle.
Good tides and water movement this weekend. Go early and expect the beaches to be crowded from mid morning on with the hot weather. That means swimming people and dogs, rock throwers, etc.

Besides flies, Buzz Bombs, Spinners & hoochie combos and herring have produced most of the beach fish I've seen caught this year.
I'll be out chasing some ho's with the bug rod.

bush and casey are good this time of year, think im gonna fish the muk beach 2day maybe bush 2morrow, i like green pearl at bush but i don't fish it like everybody, watch the guys at the bed and breakfast they always catch fish but you gotta work it, not like it says on the back of the package, give it a couple jerks let it sink, and repeat, you'll see what kinda depth the fish are at and when the guys at the b/b start casting, you better start casting, oh yea please stay away from the pink spoons, there bad for your health

No expert, but the 3.5 size worked for me the time or two I've been up there.
