Cowlitz wrap up, what a great summer! new
      #343320 - 08/14/08 09:17 PM

We finished up our Cowlitz Summer steelhead season this week.

This season ranks in my top two for Cowlitz river summer run caught, only 8 fish short of what we boated in '2006.

I don't think I've seen a Cowlitz summer run season wind down as fast as this one, probaly because of all the high water we had, the peak of the run came early.
Maybe more fish are coming, but the last week and a half it's been a desert from below Hinkley Drift to Toledo?

Thanks to eveyone who joined me for this summers fun, it was my pleasure tobe able to spend a day or two on the Cowlitz river with you.

Monday, I fished with ifisher's from Portland Or.
Gary, Don and Fletcher had a good day boating 4 of 7 they hooked...

Farrel and Julie from Mahlalla Or. were my final evening trip of the summer on Monday (8/11) they went 2-2...

Steelheader.net member TeXMojo and his Army coworkers were onboard on Tuesday (8/12).
We started kinda slow, thanks for keepin the faith bros, only 1 fish the first 3 hours, ended strong going 6-9 for the day. I would also like to add, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY!

Next up for me, a week of down time, then a vacation week fishing Astoria (Bouy 10) with family and friends, then back to work starting 9/4 with 4 weeks of Klickitat river URB/steelhead combo driftboat trips.

My next open seats are in October, we'll be catching URB's, Steelhead and Coho @ the mouth of the Klickitat...and I have PRIME DATES OPEN!

Bob, you're a class act and we all enjoyed Tuesday, heck, after we left you, we headed to the Skok for some more fun. Long day I tell you. Gonna have to schedule a few more trips with you so I can pick your brain a little more. Thanks for a job well done and thank you from all of us for your support. Hooah! TexMojo
