Siletz River in Oct.
      #349343 - 10/05/08 02:59 PM

I'll be in the area of the Siletz river at the end of this month. Looking for some encouraging information on fisning at that time. From my own research I sounds like there should be some chinook in there still. Any information woulf be appreciated. Thanks.

That's good news. I was reading a report from www.theguidesforecast.com and they say that it is tough out there right now. Know anything about the Alsea?

Fishing is really slow. I basically just got wet all weekend.

Now I'm trying to decide if I should go deer hunting next weekend or try my luck again. No worries on the plug, but I would pick a couple up to have on hand. I've done real well with it.

late buck is the ticket...go fishing next weekend, if you have some spare time.....hit the woods.
I love the area you guys live in...might have to convince the wife to move around that local..probably closer than my current commute...god luck!
PM me if you're serious about elk hunting....

Will do, thanks.

Problem is 3 of the last 4 deer I have shot were on opening weekend and the 4th was also during early season.

I think I will bring the rifle along and try to do a "cast and blast".

I've seen some big bucks along that river.

The Siletz is a total bust this year. I have fished it for 15 years and have yet to ever see year as bad as this. It might be a better choice to fish another river this year. Only problem is most north coast streams are not seeing many chinook at all.
