CALLS
      #34943 - 01/10/02 09:47 AM

In the other post Pluger mentioned calls. I was wondering which types people consider the best. I usually leave the duck calling up to my buddy but for geese I do the work. I only have 2 calls and they are both cheap P.S. Olts. They are old but they work!

Red River goose call has done some amaizing things for me. I had one goose fly a circle around my house once. Made a flock land next to a pier in Seattle. Always practicing.

The olt 800 for geese, I've called in birds without goose decs out with that thing. Duck comando for the ducks, wood bodys seem to "not" free up as bad as the Plastic But are getting harder to find. If all else fails I take the reeds out ot the plastic ones and replace them in the wood frame when they wear out.

Nothing wrong with those Olt calls. I like their pintail/wigen call better than any other whistle, and the 800 goose call worked VERY WELL for me. My only problem with the goose call is that I have had two reed section fall out into the marsh, only noticing it when I went to blow on it. I'll be pinning the next one in.
