Beaver Lake Trout Fishing new
      #355792 - 11/23/08 04:34 AM

Well, we are getting ready to go out and give this one a shot. Seems it got stocked with ~1500 3-5# Rainbows earlier this month, and it seems a shame not to take a whack at putting a few of those in the boat.

I will report back on the success or failure after we get back.

Ah well... No fishy fishy today.

Beautiful (and cold) morning but no fish for us. We saw a couple decent fish get pulled in, but we couldn't put a pattern together that they were interested in. I find it interesting that if they dropped that many fish in there that more aren't being caught.

If you saw how many people hammered it after they planted it you would understand. It was shoulder to shoulder all around the park and boat launch. The boats looked like Lake Wa sockeye fishing.

Yeah, but it is still annoying when you watch other people pull a couple in and you are striking out...

Yep - about the norm. I used to fish there quite a bit a couple years ago. It always seemed to receive the larger plantings, size of fish that is. It gets hammered hard early, but we always managed to pull good ones out after it died down. I've heard of BIG fish being pulled out.

We saw some decent fish pulled in by the 2-3 people that actually caught fish and saw some real nice ones rolling.

Did you fish near the park side or the far end of the lake? I was on my pontoon fishing closer to the park side. Hooked 4 on spoons. Even a guy flyfishing on a fat cat tube did pretty good.

We trolled the whole thing a bunch of times. We were the two guys and a kid in the red boat. Seems like the fish were holding off those weeds right there just off the park.
