Spent the last 2 days chasing the little Bas****s. I am one for one while the Son in law is 0 fer a bunch. He missed like 15 today. Birds coming up at 10'. I am going to have to start leting him have the best cover and get in on some more of the shooting. Great fun. Wet feet. At it again tomorrow following a little work on some clays.
I may not have good Salmon Stealhead fishing but I do have some of the best Chukar chasing in the country.

Yep, they are also the only birds that make me cuss.

I do miss Chukar hunting. You've probably all heard thie, but if not here it is:
"The first time you hunt Chukars it's for fun, after that you hunt them for revenge."

They do have a distinct taste, I liked to soak them in Teriyaki marinade overnight then barbecue.

Love them browned in olive oil and garlic, then finished off in cream of mushroom soup for about 30 minutes at 325. Serve over wild rice mix with a liberal scoop of the soup/gravy. MMMMMMMMMM Yummy!!!

Joe my dad has been making something similar to that for years.........one of my favorites. My dad is still a mountain goat and got a few birds this year. hoping an invite to dinner comes soon! I personally gave up hunting those dang chukars quite awile back.....Too much damn work for a bird I can't hit anyway!
