Just wondering if anybody has been out. Now that the weather has settled down, I thought I'd launch at either Everett or Camino and fish Baby Island, Elger Bay etc. That area usually produces in Jan and Feb.
The fishchecker reports show a few fish taken. I'm wondering if the water isnt pretty dirty even up in 8-2.

We should be going out of Everett here this weekend. I was sort of hoping there would be some good news by now on the fish. My be everyone is just not going out and the fish are actually everywhere, just waiting for us!

I went out yesterday by my lonesome. I got one BM, 29 inches about 10 pounds, 85 on the DR, Hot Spot/green glo squid. I launched at Camino Island Park and fished Elger Bay and right near the launch. There were around 15 boats there and I saw several nets. Back at the launch one guy had a fish that was 16 pounts. I talked to one of the locals and he said it has been "real good". He said that yesterday was actually kind of slow.
The launch is in lousy shape. The state put in a docks at the ramp and it seemed to trap the gravel in between the docks. At low tide the ramp is mostly gravel. I have a 4wd Tundra and I needed 4wd. But w/o 4wd at low tide you would have a problem. A bit of a run but launch at Everett. The local guy said Langley, Baby Island and Geenbank have also been good.
I have stuff to do tomorrow, I may go out on Sat. It's nice to be retired, I can pick my days.

If you have a small boat, you could launch at Camino island State Park. The launch is kind of lousy. But you dont have to run anywhere, good fishing near the ramp. There were some guys jigging in front of the ramp and I saw them with a net out once.

Tried 8-2 yesterday with a friend, launched at Camino Island Park. Fished pretty hard, close to the ramp, went 2/4 plus some shakers. Fish about 9 pounds. I was surprised at the amount of bait, lots of balls on the screen. Very icy roads going in. Fished from daylight to 2:30. 15-20 boats around.

fishy, I had this same reservation about my Wooldridge (Alaskan). Now I use it in Salt more than the rivers. I have been out in some pretty knarly chop around Mukilteo (Possesion) and also Goergia strait. I think you will find its not as bad as you think.
