This season is coming very soon so its time to take a look at my butt reels. Would be nice to bounce 3lb leads for flatties with electrics. Recommendations?

Nav, I replaced the Fishon's with Scotty Strikers, and the holes "kinda match up". It was close enough to make it work with a light tap from the ball peen hammer on the 4th hole. The firt 3 lined up well enough.

the cordless might work with the right nut on the handle.. hmm Not the same but a much cheaper option.

Actually very popular, there is a bar type jig made that uses the reels handle but some guys do use a nut driver

Marty, the guys i fish with use miya epoch electric and we bounce 7lbs damn near all the time with no problems and we really put the hurts on the butts last year! Warning, they aren't cheap. I think around 1200 a piece. Around 800 on ebay! They are the best investment a halibut fisherman can make. More time in the water equals more fish. Really takes the strain off the old back!

I always knew old "Leeky Boot" was a closet slimer. Electric reels for Halibut? Come on Jimmy, next thing your gonna tell me is you squat to pee also.

Don`t you worry little buddy no offense takin. To be perfectly honest I`m way to lazy to fish for halibut down here, it`s alot of work. IS the resort record still held by Greg Somebody, I think I read you guys release all the big ones now don`t you? I must say though that when I worked up there fishing for halibut was at the bottom of my list. But if I showed up as a guest now I would be "The Guest From Hell". I would insist on catching slime because we love to eat whitefish. Black sea bass, Bombers, I`d make you fish for it all.
