black crappie in the 8- to 9-inch range at the I-82 Ponds near Yakima. The fish are hitting on small white crappie jigs, he says, but the trick is to find the pockets where these fish live. You need to focus on areas with structure, like over-hanging brushy shorelines, deep water pockets near weed beds and wood-strewn areas near beaver houses.WDFW stocked black crappie fry in 1999 in I-82 Ponds 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 and Rotary Lake in the Yakima area, and in the Fio Rito Lakes in the Ellensburg area. In the most recent issue of North American Fisherman, it says that the Potholes reservoir is really going pretty strong right now for 'em. It also says that the best place on the reservoir is the sand-dunes area on the north shore. Best takle for it right now- an ultralight spinner ( I suggest an L-arm) or a 1/64-to-1/16 oz. tube jig, tipped with a maggot or minnow. best of luck.

Actually they are doing pretty good in the Lind Coolie area off osullivan. A couple weeks ago I had to take a trip to spokane and my brother and I brought my boat to do a little fishing on the way back and each got a walleye beside goose island and a nice 6lb brown too
