Anybody tried this spot where the Walla Walla meets the Columbia for Channel cats? I hear it's a good spot, are they biting now? Are there shore fishing spots there? Can you fish from shore there at night? Any advice is appreciated!
i wish i could say more about the catfishing. i live in walla walla and pass the area quite often. about 200 yards from the mouth is a unfinished bridge that goes clear to the middle of teh river. Occasionally i see some folks fishing from the bridge. There is a park near the mouth called madame dorian state park, and you can pitch a tent or park the trailor. If you are planning to fish the bank it may be a little hairy. Even if you had just a rubber raft or whatever, the water down there is quite mellow because of the back water from the dam. simply tie off to a stout branch and you're fishing. i've heard the fishing is there, don't know reports. the small mouth there are thick as flies for about 10 miles of river. have fun josh
