We all had a great time thanks to chinook73. Here are a few pictures. Just getting started Above are a "FEW" of the weapons we got to shoot. TexMojo and Chinook checking out one of the black rifles. One of the hits of the day was dogfish's .458 Hunter, his son shot it like a pro Anyone that was man enough to pull the trigger on that cannon could shoot it. Thanks Andy!! Here is a size comparison on the round And now to a .45APC And let me tell you, I caught Tridub1 just after he finished burning thru a clip full of .458's. Everyone had a 5 minute grin, amd the only word they could say was "WOW".
Here's one of all the boys Nice meeting you all. Thanks to RapidRobert for all the targets and letting me shoot some of your black rifles, they are so cool! Thank's you guys for letting me shoot your pistols, those Glock's are sweet and so is your XD Tex. Thank's Sgtmjr for letting me shoot you AR. Excellent day!!!

I just hope the ATF did not have a sattelite over us.....the gun grabbers would have a fit. I don't know how many AR types were there, but there were enough to buy a new 4x4!! We definitley had enough to be considered a militia! It was fun! Thanks for the hosting Eric!

Just got home. Had to tend to my sick GF. I didn't take too many pictures, but I'll post up some tomorrow.
Thanks to Eric for opening up his place for range day. Pardon the pun but "What a Blast" !!!!!!! And to Bob for providing his targets, expertize, and even some spare parts THANKS !!!!!!!
It was nice to meet some of you folks and put a face with the name. Wes, you are about half the age I thought you were
.458 SOCOM = BIG FUN!!! Thanks for letting us shoot that fine weapon Andy.
As far as who gets the coveted "Dead Eye Dick" award for fine shooting, I'm thinking it's a toss up between Hunter & Tally.
No casulties, well I got a papercut and was bleeding like a stuck hog. Skyguy wanted to stich me up with some 20# mono he had laying around, but I elected to man up instead.
Looking forward to Range Day 10

I should have gotten my stuff together and pm'd chinook73 for an invite, then again I'm trying hard to resist that black gun disease. You get this all started Bob? Nice hosting of people.

Dad speaking now. Thanks guys for a great time, and Eric, many thanks for letting us shoot up your hillside.
Hunter's good with the rifle, but I think we need to work on his pistol skilz just a bit. Hunter sure isn't a shy boy around fellow gun enthusiests. I really appreciate you guys letting him shoot your rifles and pistols.
We did round #2 after working on the house today and took my nephew out for a shoot.
A few other guys showed up at our spot where we shot today. They liked the look of the "wood" AR. They were shooting without hearing protection, and I let them shoot my .458. Guess I should have told them that with the muzzle break the rifle would be louder. Oops!
I gotta get a set of those popper targets. Those things rock Bob!

Thanks to everybody that came out for a day of click click boom. I had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone. Even the weather gods were nice, blindly planning an outdoor event months in advance usually means rain here on the "wet side". It was really neat to see all the different AR'S. Bob, those targets are great! Lets plan a long gun shoot sometime in July/August to sight in the big game rifles on the long range.
After all the smoke cleared, the neighbor said that his construction crew wanted to know why he lived next to a militia. The crew also said that anybody would be absoutely nuts to try to rob a house in our neighborhood.
Looked like everybody had a great time and nobody got hurt!! All are welcome to do it agin next year!

Note to self...
Next RD, take fewer weapons = less weapon cleaning afterwards.
Those auto poppers work well, Andy's .458 SoCom gave them a work out...you need to make sure all the bolts are tight prior to that much energy.
Other the shooting off a couple legs, plates coming unbolted form the pop up spring, another can of white Krylon...they're good to go!
That armor plate if tough sh!t!
Anyone interested in MGM Target poppers, goto

I started to count holes in the car door and stopped after I reached 250. No problem telling which ones were from the socom. RR I do have plenty of stainless nylock nuts that may help keep the bolts tight. Those targets definitely held up under all the thunder sticks. I liked the zombie killer!

uh, that'd be me...sorry to beat you to it, but it was just to tempting. I think it was with Andy's .458 or RR's FAL, can't remember. Thing flew about 10ft to the left when it came off too!

The entire door would work better now as a cheese grater. Thanks to everyone, you did a great job cleaning up! With the thousands of rounds that were spent, you would never know it. The place was cleaner than when we all started blasting. I went out the next day looking for some stray brass and couldn't hardly find anything, either that or some tweekers got it.

I had the wood fore-end on the .458 custom made by Wild Cherry Woodworks in Maine. I made my own buffer tube cover out of fiberglass and sent that to Chris as well.
I ended up making 5 or 6 tubes for him so that he could make a few more rifles. One he did in Curly (maybe burl) Maple, and that one is more striking than mine. That was for his 6.5 Grendel.
If anyone is interested in that touch, I can make you a buffer tube cover and Chris can do the rest. I have all of his contact information.
