there is alot of info here on this subject. do a search. or go the this boards main page on knots.

or do a google search too. there is a awesome single knot that i use that has been the ticket. don't know the name though. contact Snagly by PM, he is a master braid guru.

I prefer the uni knot. http://www.blackwaterinternationalinc.com/tech_tips_uni_to_uni.html
Just increase the number of turns on the braided side. In most cases, I'd probably use a sampo swivel because braid tends to be a really mess when it twists.

I like uni to uni for similar sized braid to mono connections. I have used a double surgeon's loop with good success as well. Fishdoc had a braid to mono knot he tied with his braid knot tool that was supposed to be near 100% breaking strength. Maybe he'll have directions. I wish I remembered...

This is a good site with animated step by step instructions on knot tying.
http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php

I always used a small but strong swivel to connect them. I just feel more comfortable with it since mono and braid are like oil and water.

I use a bimini twist in my braid, then a simple surgeons loop in my mono. I can change leaders quicky, or even add a swivel if I want to.
I've never had a breakoff due to knot failure with this system.

Double or triple surgeons knot for me. Check the knots link at the top of the home page on this site.
