I spent four days up there last week at the WCFC and we happened to hit it just right. Fishing was spotty previous to our arrival but heated up real quick. During our stay there were 401 chinook taken for, I think, 38 guests. All were at least mid twenties fish and there were several in the fifties and one sixty pounder. Many were in the thirty pound range. Of the total 155 were kept. The coho started to show and 25 were caught but the largest was 14 pounds as I recall. I will post more info later. One neat thing about WCFC is that they encourage release of 30 pound plus fish and most everyone let them go. As always, there were a couple of exceptions.
A bit pricey for a trip, but worth every penny in memories. [ 06-26-2002, 06:24 AM: Message edited by: Maltby ]

Wow! 60 pounds. It would be tough to release such a fish. Even tougher to catch it in the first place. Didju catchit?

No Gutz, I wasn't the lucky one but I did photograph and verify the measurements for the record. I didn't catch anything over 31 pounds but that is still a lot of fish.
Releasing the big ones is kind of the culture there and they reward you for doing it. I think the guy that released the 60 pounder was given an brand new Islander M2 reel. Everyone is pretty much into releasing the large fish back into the gene pool which I support.
As soon as I figure out the picture upload feature here I'll get a couple pictures up of some of the other fish.
