Pile Perch
      #370543 - 03/12/09 08:09 PM

Just wondering when the best time of the yr. is for perch fishing. I remember someone telling me late Mar. a while back but I'm not to sure that's right either.
I want to put my new 'toon in the salt around the pier by the Clinton Ferry dock and see if I can get some.

Pile perch around docks are good year around. Spawning occurs in April/May I believe so you might see greater concentrations March thru May. March use to be killa for them in Hood canal before it was closed.

years ago i read somewhere that edmonds/mukilteo area used to be the largest breeding area of puget sound.......we used to fish mukilteo when we were kids.........catch a bus down to mukilteo, find some piling worms at the beach, catch a dozen pile perch and be done before the next bus came..........
