Check the Regs close! Rainbows over 20" must be released.

After watching Hogquest, me thinks I will give it a shot this week, if I dont go down to the Columbia that is. Is the south part of the lake the best hit? I live near the north end, are those flats on the NW end any good?

I did try that spot today. There were several boats there. I got two, one 16" and the other 18". They had lots of spots like cuts and just very faint slashes, but not chromers like sea run cuts. Hybrids? Plug cut red label herring. 1/0 gami on the top and #4 gami treble on the bottom hooked into the fish just ahead of the tailfin. Both were hooked by the treble. I used a light steelhead rod, 15 mainline and 6' of 15 flurocarbon leader. 20-25 feet on the DR. The fish I got were right off the Cedar at the end of the runway.

Two guys in one boat I talked to had 4. They were using spinners/nightcrawlers.

Kind of fun, I'll try that again.

I didnt notice a red sled. I got there early, at dawn and there was only one other boat. I talked to 3 guys in a NR sled that launched when I did. I think most guys slept in cause around 7:30 another dozen or so showed up! Looked like old retired guys (like me).

My ancient 1991 Merc 8hp wouldnt work. I trolled with my big mtr, Yamaha. The old Merc has prob 3000 hours on it and it is pretty well shot. I've been calling around for quotes on a T8, electric start, 20" shaft. Got one price 2350 and another 2100. The 2100 sounds decent.
