5/1 smallies new
      #375536 - 05/01/09 05:33 PM

After having to cancel my 4 day weekend trip to Drano, I figured it was too nice to not fish at all. So I headed to my local lake to look for bass. Water temp was in the lower 60's,saw a couple fish on beds but they were still pretty spooky. Caught 3 fish off docks including this brute!

All in all it was a great day on the water.

Shaun.

Wow, nice going.

Water temp in the low 60's? Must be in the Banana Belt. Over here in the Boise area the water temp on nearby Lucky Peak Reservoir was 47.5 degrees today. Must explain why no one was out swimming today.

Nice feesh! That fish in had to go at least 5lbs - you get a weight on it Shaun?

We went out on Lake WA for a couple hours early Saturday morning. On my second cast to a dock when my drop shot hit the ground I feel, "tick, tick" and set the hook on something HEAVY. Get it to the boat and it's a damn squawfish. Pig of a sqawfish, but dissappointing. Fished Newport Shores with no luck. Water temps were right around 55.

Damn Shawn, big ole bronze. We're still low temps here, highest I've seen is 54, but most of the water we're fishing now is about 44-45. Been starting to catch more LM though. Here was my bigger fish of the weekend, baby compared to yours. It was pretty slow - weather was interesting, although you wouldn't be able to tell from pic.

Oh, I've been here and there... Been spending a lot more time on the water, but no tourneys for me. Too much travel from now until early hunts start. Poor planning on my part, plan on changing that next year.

PM your number - I lost my old phone. I still travel to Oly for work at least every other month. Don't know what your schedule looks like, but would like to rip a few lips.

Here's the ride - haven't seen any pics from you yet either..

Nice ride Pinch - Is that a kicker bracket on the back? I'm looking for a boat that I can use as a bass fishing boat with bow mount trolling motor, but also use as a downrigger trolling boat at times with a gas kicker.

Very nice Pinch! Ill p.m. you my number. From June through the summer Ill be spending my time in area 11 for kings but if you wanna hook up for bass we could do that! Or we could meet up over at potholes this summer and fish for a day or two?
I posted a pic of my boat a while ago but ill post a couple more if you want, Ill post the full brag list of all the chit I added!

Hey Quillback, those deeper vee lunds sure are nice, front trolling motor, kicker on the back, livewells, and everything else you could think of!

Shaun.

Thx fellas. Not a bracket, it's a ladder. I'll pull my brother and gf around during the summer, this worked better than the emergency ladder.

Doesn't matter what species, it's been a long time since I've done any salmon fishing, none since I've moved here anyways. Well, guess last year for springers down at McNary.. anyhow, we'll make something work. Only fish PH once, and that was about 9 years ago. That could be fun.

There are a bunch of nice boats in the same family as Lund at far better prices. Just a thought. Tracker, Fisher, Spectrum, etc.

The Fisher is hard to beat....nice welded hull - no rivets. Great design/layout with lots of storage. Not as pricey as the Lund. I loved the one I had - only reason I switched was it was a single side console, medium-v open bass boat config and I wanted walk thru with top and deeper hull, etc.

Tracker bought out Fisher several years ago to obtain the welding technology or so I was told. Since then, some lines of their boats [maybe all now] are welded/no rivets, and pretty nice as well. Think it was an upscale model [Targa?] that I saw several years ago in a PWT tournament I was in and they were really nice...alot like the Lunds, not cheap but not as pricey as the Lund.
